The appraisal team is led by Timothy W. Conroy, the only nationally certified member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) in Central New York, specializing in antiques & decorative arts. ASA accreditation is earned upon passing a series of demanding exams over a period of years and by demonstrating competency for complete & accurate appraisals. Also, ASA audits appraiser conduct, ensuring that its members operate with impeccable ethics. Below is a summary of TW Conroy appraisal services and fees:

Personal Property Written appraisals of personal property -- including Antiques, Decorative Art, and Home Furnishings -- are provided to you for a fee of $200 per hour. Free verbal evaluations are offered, as well.
Property for Auction We provide free verbal evaluations, along with identification and value assessment, if you are interested in auctioning your property or are trying to make an educated decision as to the disposition of the property; i.e. "Should you keep this item, sell it, or donate it to charity?"
Commercial & Residential Property Appraisals of residential property are billed at $325 per written report. Commercial property appraisals can cost more. Please call for a quote.
Real Estate Free verbal appraisals, with value advice, are provided to prospective clients who are considering the dissolution of residential or commercial real estate.

Written Appraisals
TW Conroy conducts written appraisals of artwork, antiques, home furnishings and other personal property at a rate of $200.00 per hour. There is no charge for initial consultations. Also, you may wish to take advantage of our free verbal appraisal service.

Being duly diligent, it is recommended to clients that they opt for an "itemized list" appraisal, which includes those items with an individual value of $250 or more. However, this is solely at the client’s option. Special circumstances may dictate the need for itemized lists of items with nominal value. These situations include divorce and estate distribution.

Other circumstances are best addressed for a "lump sum" evaluation of a group of items, or a combination of a "lump sum" and "itemized list" appraisal. Whatever your needs, TW Conroy offers honest, professional guidance in helping you choose the most appropriate evaluation methods for your situation.

Free Verbal Appraisals
Many individuals who seek an appraisal do not want or even need a formal written appraisal. If you are looking to sell an item or are simply curious about the origin, age, medium and value of your item… at no fee, TW Conroy can be of service to you.

Verbal evaluations of one (up to 3 items) are provided at no cost. TW Conroy performs this service to increase the good will of the company in your eyes. Also, the firm believes that its best clients (current and prospective) are ones who are educated about the nature and value of their valuables.
